Meet the Team

Meet the team responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering your home or duplex project.

Lachlan McDonald

Hi, I’m Lachlan, the Director of Caton Constructions.

Growing up in the Sutherland Shire, I developed a love for the ocean very early. In my youth, I was a surf lifesaver at Elouera Surf Club and tried my hand at both board and swim competitions, but I really loved competing in the IRBs. My love of the ocean has continued, and while I still enjoy the odd surf, my days by the water are now spent with my wife, Rebecca, and our dog, Val. We enjoy time on our boat, fishing, relaxing on the sand, or enjoying our newest water hobby — stand-up paddleboarding.

After finishing Year 12 at Trinity Grammar School, I undertook my apprenticeship through the Master Builders Association and was indentured with Gledhill Constructions, where I honed my skills on projects ranging from $500k to $15m, including several award-winning builds. After completing a Certificate III in Carpentry and Joinery in 2009 and a Certificate IV in Building and Construction in 2011, I furthered my education by completing a Bachelor of Applied Science (Built Environment) in 2014. Always looking to develop my skills further, I also completed a Graduate Certificate in Building Surveying with Distinction in 2024.

Director

From a work perspective, I’m very hands-on and involved throughout the entire process, from early planning and approvals through to construction and handover. At Caton Constructions, we pride ourselves on clear and honest communication, accountability at every turn, and an unwavering commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. I understand that undertaking a residential construction project is a significant journey, whether it’s a family home or a dual occupancy development, and my role is to make that process as seamless and stress-free as possible.

Our systems — including weekly client updates, regular safety inspections, and rigorous quality control backed by a comprehensive checklist — are designed to keep clients informed, confident, and in control at every stage. For me, it’s not just about building homes; it’s about building trust and delivering an experience people feel genuinely good about from start to finish.

Sandy

Hi, I’m Sandy, and I am a Site Supervisor for Caton Constructions. I’m responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations and making sure each project runs smoothly, safely, and to a high standard.

I work closely with Lachlan, our trades, and suppliers to ensure quality workmanship, clear communication, and strong site discipline throughout the build. My focus is on keeping projects organised, maintaining timelines, and ensuring every detail is delivered as intended on site.

Outside of work I enjoy time with my family and being outdoors.

Helen

Hi, I’m Helen, and I manage accounts at Caton Constructions, helping ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

I take pride in being organised, accurate, and reliable, and I work closely with the team to support the financial side of each project. My role helps keep processes clear and efficient for both our clients and our suppliers.

In my personal life I enjoy staying active, weekends away at our farm, travelling and time spent with my children and grand-children.

Accounts

Hi, I’m Angelica. I look after marketing at Caton Constructions, focusing on the brand, website, and social media, and helping shape how Caton shows up online.

I enjoy the creative side of marketing, particularly content creation and refining ideas so everything feels clear, considered, and on brand.

Outside of work, I love staying active and moving. I enjoy long walks, running, and have recently fallen in love with playing tennis. I also really value downtime with family and friends, and spending time with my black cat, Choco. I’m based in the Philippines and love travelling and exploring new places whenever I get the chance.
